Information on

Curodont

Curodont is a non-invasive, pain-free treatment used to stop and reverse early-stage tooth decay (incipient caries or “white spot lesions”) before they require drilling and fillings. It acts as a guided remineralization system that rebuilds the tooth’s natural enamel structure.

How It Works

Curodont contains a patented, self-assembling peptide formula (often known as Curolox Technology). When applied to the affected area as a liquid or rinse, it penetrates the porous, weakened enamel.

  • Mineral Penetration: It forms a 3D scaffolding within the tooth structure.
  • Guided Remineralization: This matrix attracts essential minerals like calcium, phosphate, and fluoride from your natural saliva, which diffuse into the lesion and re-harden the enamel over several weeks.

Key Benefits of Curodent

  • Completely Non-Invasive: Avoids the need for drilling and traditional fillings.
  • Pain-Free & Tasteless: The application is painless, tasteless, and doesn’t stain the teeth.
  • Preserves Tooth Structure: Retains the maximum amount of natural enamel.
  • Versatile: Suitable for patients of all ages (including young children) and can be used on all tooth surfaces.
The Procedure

The treatment is administered in-office by a dental professional:

  • No Prep Work: No drilling or injections are required.
  • Application: The dentist applies the Curodont liquid directly to the white spots or early decay.
  • Absorption: It is left on for a few minutes to soak into the porous enamel naturally.
  • Natural Healing: Over the next few weeks, the tooth continues to re-harden and regenerate from the inside out.
It is important to note that Curodont is strictly for early-stage decay and porous “watch” areas. It cannot regenerate or rebuild enamel in teeth that have already developed an actual hole (cavitated lesions), which still require traditional restorative fillings.
